Accompanying a Push Chair or Wheel Chair

The current push chair space does not allow a parent to sit close to their child.
This mother described needing to be close to doors on busy trains.
So, parents sit elsewhere with their push chair next to them.
A similar situation occurs when travelling with someone in a wheelchair.

Is this an important aspect of Metro journeys?

There should be a fold down seat in a buggy or wheelchair bay so that if the person using the wheelchair is travelling accompanied they can have their friend sitting with them if they are not travelling alone. Also, when a parent has a younger child in a buggy or pram, they often have an older one who isn't old enough to stand for the journey and needs to sit on the parent's knee.

Buggies should be folded down. The amount of times buggies sit empty while mothers sit with children on the seat with them is unbelievable. Buggies should be folded down only wheelchair spaces provided.
